Research field

Dr. Yu Chen received her Ph.D. in Linguistics and Applied Linguistics from Beijing Language and Culture University

She is currently a lecturer and master's supervisor at the College of International Culture and Social Development, Zhejiang Normal University. 

She also serves as Director of the Department of Chinese Language at the college and Deputy Director of the Institute of Applied Linguistics.

She has previously worked at McMaster University, Georgia State University, and Beijing Language and Culture University

During the 2023–2024 academic year, she was a visiting scholar at University of Kansas.

She has led five research projects and participated in one major project funded by the National Social Science Foundation of China, as well as two provincial- and ministerial-level projects and three other research projects.

She has published around ten academic papers in domestic and international journals and has obtained one software copyright. A new textbook authored by her is forthcoming(2026).

She is among the first group of members of the Language Testing and Evaluation Committee of the China Association for Comparative Studies of English and Chinese and a member of the International Research Base for the Communication of Artificial Intelligence and Terminology.
